Director, set designer, visual designer, and photographer, Victor Pilon belongs to the first generation of artists often referred to as multidisciplinary creators.\n\nIn the early 1980s, after spending two years in Europe, he earned a bachelor's degree in visual arts with a specialization in photography. As an official photographer, he documented over thirty royal visits to Canada, as well as visits from other heads of state on behalf of the Quebec and Canadian governments.\n\nAs a visual artist, Victor Pilon has exhibited his work in various galleries across Canada. His creations are part of the Canada Council Art Bank and the Public Archives of Canada collections. A monograph dedicated to his artistic work was published in 1988.<\/p>

Based in Montreal, he met at the turn of the 1990s the person who would become his greatest collaborator: Michel Lemieux<\/a>. From Lemieux Pilon 4D Art emerged unique productions where meaning and emotion are elevated through the use of new technologies. The duo boldly masters the integration of theatre, cinema, dance, poetry, visual arts, and music to create original stage universes.\n\nThis led to the creation of works such as Territoires Oniriques, an installation piece for the company\u2019s 30th anniversary at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Icare, La Belle et la B\u00eate, and Shakespeare\u2019s The Tempest at Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Nouveau Monde, as well as NORMAN, a tribute performance to Canadian filmmaker Norman McLaren<\/a>.\n\nIn partnership with the Op\u00e9ras de Qu\u00e9bec and Montr\u00e9al, the duo created Starmania Op\u00e9ra. The show TORUK \u2013 The First Flight marked Lemieux and Pilon\u2019s fourth collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, following DELIRIUM, Soleil de Minuit\u2014a commemorative show celebrating both the 20th anniversary of Cirque du Soleil and the 25th season of the Montreal International Jazz Festival\u2014as well as an act for the resident show Michael Jackson ONE.\n\nThey also created Continuum<\/a>, set to music from the Philip Glass catalog, the first multimedia show at Montreal\u2019s new Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium<\/a>.\n\nThey also collaborate regularly on exhibitions and special events. With more than thirty productions to their name, the work of Lemieux and Pilon has been acclaimed in Canada, the United States, Europe, Latin America, Australia, and Asia.<\/p>

Since 2016, Cit\u00e9 M\u00e9moire, the world\u2019s largest urban video trail<\/a>, created in collaboration with Michel Marc Bouchard, comes to life every evening on the walls of Old Montreal. His most recent creation, Sisyphe<\/a>, is the culmination of his artistic approach, as he performs himself in a physical contemporary art performance that is both introspective and contemplative.\n\nAn art film<\/a> created by the artist from footage of his 2021 Montreal performance is currently being showcased at film festivals.<\/p>

In March 2024, Sisyphe \u2013 The Film was presented as the closing screening of the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) in Montreal, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey for this singular work. In June, the original performance crossed the Atlantic to be featured at the Holland Festival in Amsterdam, one of Europe\u2019s most important arts events. Back in Montreal in January 2025, the film was showcased in a special screening at the Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que Qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise, highlighting the local roots of this deeply introspective creation. In fall 2025, Sisyphe \u2013 The Film will join the ARTS.FILM platform, curated by FIFA, extending its reach to a wider audience interested in art and thoughtful reflection.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
