Cité Mémoire – Montréal
Cité Mémoire, a work of Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon, in partnership with Michel Marc Bouchard.
Freely inspired by the history of Montreal, Cité Mémoire invites you to meet a multitude of characters, some famous and others unknown, who have witnessed the evolution of the city through time.
More than 20 tableaux unfold in images, words, and music on the ground and walls of Old Montreal. Around thirty different eras are evoked, sometimes playful, sometimes dreamlike. On Île Bonsecours, the present takes center stage: 375 Montreal faces come to life among the trees, carried by the words of local poets. Cité Mémoire is a tribute to Montreal – welcoming, intelligent, sensitive, progressive – and, above all, to the people who inhabit it today, who founded it yesterday, and who will dream of it tomorrow.
