Dreamscapes, the exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, is extended until October 12th!
This work, about 23 minutes in length, immerse visitors in a succession of various “states of memory” inspired by five stage productions, each of which is evoked for five to seven minutes. These are not merely documentary recordings of the shows as presented onstage, but rather the actual audio/visual elements folded into their creation and reworked in a particular sequence for this unique context. The thematic, visual and auditory sequence serve as a kind of poetic, immersive retrospective, by turns stimulating and soothing.
In addition, through the use of archival documents – sketches, maquettes, photographs, videos – and various objects taken from Lemieux-Pilon creations, visitors enjoy a rare glimpse into the creative process employed by Lemieux and Pilon’s wide-ranging artistic career.
