Cité Mémoire

The creation
Cité Mémoire, created by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon in collaboration with Michel Marc Bouchard
Loosely inspired by the history of Montreal, Cité Mémoire invites you to meet a host of characters – both the famed and the unfamiliar – who’ve witnessed the city’s evolution first-hand. Over 20 tableaux, unfolding with images, words and music, are projected on the walls and the ground of Old Montreal. Poetic, dreamlike and occasionally playful, this urban multimedia experience evokes more than 30 different eras of the city’s history. Île Bonsecours celebrates the present : 375 faces of Montreal come to life among the trees, borne on the words of the city’s poets. Cité Mémoire pays tribute to Montreal – receptive, perceptive, sensitive, progressive – and, above all, to the human beings peopling it in the present, who founded it in the past, and who will dream it into existence tomorrow. For the schedule, consult the Montreal en Histoires website.
