The Tempest
A spectacular version of Shakespeare's great classic. A story of vengeance, forgiveness, and reconciliation, populated by spirits, vanishments, and illusions.
Too inclined to study and knowledge, Prospero, Duke of Milan, is overthrown and must exile himself on an island with his daughter Miranda. In great poverty, he continues to develop his knowledge while preparing his revenge with the help of the magical spirit Ariel and his servant Caliban. He causes the shipwreck of his enemies and sets in motion a plan to drive them mad and prevent them from leaving the island. However, Miranda falls in love with a shipwrecked man, Ferdinand, the son of the traitor Prospero seeks to destroy. Realizing the futility of vengeance, he ultimately finds peace in forgiveness.
In this version of The Tempest, Prospero’s world is split in two: while his daughter and servant are real (actors), his enemies and the spirits are merely the product of his imagination (virtual characters). This illusion of three-dimensional ghostly figures provides the audience with a stunning experience that blurs the boundaries between dream and the concrete world. Close-ups, apparitions, and visual effects make The Tempest a hybrid work between theater and cinema.
