On the theme of Candles & Ribbons, the Black & Blue 2000 event brought together over 15,000 participants at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

The stadium’s central field is covered with 34,000 red and white candles representing the AIDS ribbon. The work is dedicated to the memory of those who have died from AIDS and to those living with HIV.
