The Dissolution of Lady Macbeth
A work by Michel Lemieux inspired by Macbeth de Shakespeare
In this interpretation of William Shakespeare's play, the sleepwalking queen, gradually overwhelmed by remorse, becomes obsessed with the imaginary blood on her hands; she will ultimately dissolve slowly into madness.
Michel Lemieux presents his new media work in the opening of the exhibition Thierry Mugler: Couturissime, dedicated to the French designer. This creation, exclusively visible within the exhibition, brings to life the stage costumes created by Mugler for The Disapearance of Lady Macbeth at the Comédie-Française and the Festival d'Avignon.
Between 2019 and 2022, the work was presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Kunsthal in Rotterdam, the Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung in Munich, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
