Starmania Opera
Tragic death, bitter victory, disillusionment... At the end of this tragedy, only Marie-Jeanne will finally choose to set out in search of the sun.
Terrorism versus totalitarianism: two powerful forces in opposition, two threats looming over the world. Monopolis, the new capital of the West, is gripped by fear of the Black Stars. Their leader, Johnny Rockfort, acts under the influence of the young agitator Sadia. Their secret meetings take place at the Underground Café under the watchful eye of Marie-Jeanne, the robotic waitress, while from the hundredth floor of the Golden Tower, billionaire Zero Janvier orchestrates his presidential campaign for the West, built on a return to order and the creation of a new atomic world.
It is within this context that three parallel love stories unfold and unravel: Marie-Jeanne’s fascination with Ziggy, an androgynous and delusional young record store clerk; the romance between Zero Janvier and movie sex symbol Stella Spotlight; and most importantly, the lightning-strike love between Johnny Rockfort and Cristal, the star host of the television show Starmania.
Orchestrated by Sadia, the meeting between Johnny and Cristal at the Underground Café doesn’t go according to her plan. Driven mad with jealousy at the sudden passion between the leader of the Black Stars and Cristal, she betrays the couple to Zero Janvier on the night of his engagement to Stella Spotlight at Naziland, a massive rotating nightclub overlooking the city. But that very night, the Black Stars have chosen to plant a bomb in the Golden Tower.
